What are Essential Oils ?
Essential oils are highly concentrated oils extracted from various parts of aromatic plants, flowers and trees.
These essential oils are the concentrated essences of the aromatic plant. They can be used as
- an anti-viral (to prevent infections)
- an analgesic (to alleviate pain)
- an anti-fungal
- an anti-inflammatory (to reduce swelling)
- an anti-bacterial
Essential Oils can be used to calm and soothe or stimulate and invigorate your emotions and well-being.
Essential Oils should be stored in dark coloured glass bottles in a cool area, out of direct light. Unless noted, they should not be applied directly to the skin, but instead placed in a carrier oil such as almond oil, so as to avoid irritation. Research has shown essential oils to be some of the strongest antimicrobial agents; ridding the body of toxins and fighting infection. For centuries essential oils have been considered the most theraputic and rejuvenating of all botanical extracts. They are highly concentrated, regenerating, oxygenating and contain hormones, vitamins, and antiseptics that work on many levels.
